History & Staff

We have years of experience caring for families from all walks of life. Our Queen Anne style location was built in 1888 and retains its original fine Victorian detail.  We have been serving families since 1895 and from our current location since 1907.  We are the oldest continually operating funeral home in Bay County.   The fourth and fifth generations of our family, along with our exceptional office & experienced support staff are here to meet your individual needs. With over a century of serving others, each family comes to us knowing we are leaders in our profession, dedicated to excellence in service, and have the highest integrity.

At the Hyatt-Ewald Funeral Home we take great pride in what we do. Our purpose is to:

  • Help families make well-planned preparations in their time of need.
  • Provide a peaceful and soothing environment where people can gather to honor the life of a loved one.
  • Preserve longstanding traditions and customs.
  • Offer personalized and affordable services and products.

We believe that the success of any business requires dedication and professionalism. In our business, in particular, it also requires a great deal of kindness, compassion and attention to detail. You’ll find these qualities in each and every member of our staff.  We are a resource to all families by providing administrative assistance with state assistance, Veteran's burial benefits, insurance claims and pre-need and pre-funding.  In addition, we have a practicing Registered Nurse on staff to assist with end of life questions and death certificate explanations.

Put your trust in us to make this experience as seamless, comfortable and carefree as possible.
